Review: Traces Of You - Bleed The Truth

More hardcore from Italy! Traces Of You bring fast and fairly straight forward hardcore that blends both heavy and melodic parts. The shouted vocals make the package complete and even though I am not the biggest fan of this style of singing, they get the job done. Generally, it makes me think of modern hardcore but with a heavier tone. Something in the middle between Terror and Comeback Kid, I think you can get the idea.

The tempos are fast almost of the times, but they do some vicious stuff like breakdowns or solos now and there. The production is very clear and crisp, sometimes even too polished but it's a matter of personal taste. My only problem is that I like my hardcore a more dirty and gritty. I wouldn’t mind if it was more aggressive and ignorant, I am even willing to send them some Last Dayz or Soul Search music for influences. But like I said, it’s just my personal taste.

What I like is the songs are short and to the point, very rarely going past 3 minutes mark. And it’s cool when there’s more thrash to it, like the The Flag of the Most Glorious track which is really dope.

I am usually into harder stuff, but in reality, this is not bad. I can’t deny they got knack for writing catchy songs and some of the hooks are very memorable. Plus, the album is very nice put together by DYW Recs, they did top notch job as always.
