Skam Dust - Corona Drug Bust and more...

Skam Dust, from the womb of Skarhead, is a thunderbolt of terror, internationally known and locally hated; he is here to sabotage the stage. Your favorite hero got his start when he was on the lam in the mid-'90s touring with the infamous Skarhead getting a better taste of N.Y.H.C., partnering in crime with Lord Ezec from Jackson Heights. Skam was destined to rock the mic and stir up chaos in the underground with his brothers from the world famous D.M.S. Crew...

After the legendary Skarhead tour, Lord Ezec told Skam he should start a band and then Son Of Skam was born!!! They did a few things here and there but never really went full throttle with the music. With three other singers in the group Skam needed to do his own shit and show the world how this crazy Cuban/Dominican destroys the mic.

In the words of Skam:

"My lyrics tell my story in the most explicit way possible. These stories are informed by who I am and where I grew up: the Bermuda Triangle of NY called Corona Queens and known to many as Spaghetti Park. These streets are full characters and this is where my inner circle and story began.

I recall a time when the police and the public were in a state of panic caused by the 44 Killer, otherwise known as the Son Of Sam, he was on the loose and filling the city with terror. Meanwhile NYC was undergoing a city-wide blackout, it was wild. I share moments like this and speak about the days when crack cocaine was destroying lives and graffiti was on every subway train.

My lyrics reminisce about the days spent riding shotgun with my dad, who worked many hours as a NYC yellow cabbie. Through these rides I glimpsed a world outside of my own neighborhood. I met some real New Yorkers and heard their stories; authentic taxi-cab confessions. Today I write to bring my New York City experience to life. As I say in “Five Borough Manhunt”, “If the streets could talk, you wouldn’t want to walk it/ Eyes and hearts have been taken by the pocket.” To understand more, listen to the music and check my new video."

Fast forward to 2010 where Skam Dust is ready to bring you his first full length album "Corona Drug Bust" with a whole bunch of new tunes as well as the classic Son Of Skam tracks! The title track and lead single has guest vocals from long time friend Freddy Madball and the video they shot also features Damian Burnz and Peter Greene... Danny Diablo aka Lord Ezec (Skarhead, Crown Of Thornz), Grizz Rock (Ruff Ryders, Shotblockers), Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis) all laid out guest verses on Skam's latest effort... This is true thug-core straight from “The Rotten Apple!!!”. Skam Dust is ready to rock!

Cruel Hand will drop new album out July 27th

Poised to be one of the hardest records of 2010, Lock & Key is Cruel Hand's third full-length (second album for Bridge Nine) and will be available on July 27th, 2010! Full of just as many catchy, metallic riffs as mosh parts, Lock & Key is a nice mix of Madball, Leeway, Cro-Mags, Metallica, Suicidal, Obituary, etc., and is one of the most well-rounded hardcore albums in recent memory. Lock and Key was recorded last month in Wakefield, MA with producer Jay Maas (Verse, Bane, Defeater) and illustrates what Cruel Hand is capable of both lyrically and musically.

Vocalist Chris Linkovich said, "Lock & Key is definitely not a 'Prying Eyes Part 2'. It's not just a progression either, we feel like this is our defining release. We weren't scared to bring all of our influences to the table, no matter what the genre of music. We spent a lot more time with guitar sounds, a lot of layering and melody and other second guitar work. As far as lyrics, I reached my goal of working with a lot of different subject matters and also using a little bit of melody with different vocal patterns and delivery. The record is ill and we listen to it every day."

Since the release of Cruel Hand's Bridge Nine debut, Prying Eyes, in 2008, the band has been a relentless touring machine and one of the tightest bands in the hardcore world. Cruel Hand has shared the stage with bands like Have Heart, Bane, Terror, Death Before Dishonor, and more, and will continue to tour the globe non-stop in support of Lock & Key. Stay tuned to Bridge9.com for details, tour announcements, and more to be announced soon!

Let It Burn to release Final Prayer discography

Final Prayer will release "Best of Times" on Let it Burn Records July 7, 2010. This early discography CD contains Final Prayer’s debut album “Right Here Right Now”, their sold out split-releases with Alcatraz and Crisis Never ends, their unreleased first demo and a great cover song. 20 songs in total.

Felix / Final Prayer:
"'Best of Times' first and foremost documents the band's early history: From the humble beginnings, aka the demo days, to two split releases, to the first album. Second, with the demo and the split releases being long out of print, seeing copies of our demo being sold for stupid amounts of money on Ebay not only made us wish we had kept some somewhere, but also made it a necessity to make these songs accessible again for a fair price. And furthermore this release hopefully serves as a thank you to all the people who have supported us from day one and continue to this day: Mathias from Our World rec., Rene Punchline, Marcel from Demons Run Amok, Chris from Let it Burn and all the people that asked us countless times about how to get copies of said releases. In retrospect we'd probably change a lot about some of the songs (if we could), but didn't Scott V. from Terror scream "no shame, no regrets" in all of our faces? There you go! Enjoy."

Chris / Let it Burn:
"In all these years we’ve been running this label now we’ve never seen a band grow so rapidly like Final Prayer. They never lacked of self-confidence and one can say that they knew what they’ve been doing right from the start. But at the time we signed them we didn’t expect at all that they would grow such a huge and dedicated fanbase in such a short time. Go to a hardcore show and you can be sure to see at least 10 kids with a Final Prayer shirt (If Terror or Hatebreed is playing you can easily quadruple the number, hahaha!) Looking back at the last 6 years now I know what the plain and simple dodge is: Not giving a fuck. I hardly ever met such a straightforward no-nonsense band who did their own thing in such an adamant and confident way. It was & is a great pleasure to work with Final Prayer."
