Download: Lowpoint - Demo 2012

This one came out last year, but it's been just recently that I found out about the band. Lowpoint represents Florida and names Metallica, Crowbar, Disembodied, Merauder and Obituary as their influences. So basically, it's metallic hardcore played tight and aggressive, with some heavy-ass riffs and pissed-off vocals. Fans of heavy hardcore will definitely be into that! Download the demo!

Providence joins Eulogy Records!

Providence hardcore

Paris' Providence has inked a deal with Eulogy Records! Rarely you see a band that's as hard working and dedicated as those dudes, so they truly deserve the recognition. As far as beatdown goes in 2013, they're on of the few remaining bands that got it right! Readers of this blog should be familiar with the band, but for those living under the rock, the official press: Formed in 2005, Providence come from the depths of filthy Paris and play dark and brutal hardcore, full of crushing breakdowns. Since their beginning the band sought to innovate rather than imitate, intending to create a combination of social/political awareness and aggression. Providence’s style is huge, metallic and epic, yet manages to be efficient and straight up at the same time. The hoarse-growled vocals that complete this already potent formula are complimented by monstrous gang backups, spitting out venom on a variety of topics including politics, economy and the craziness of the world, yet maintaining a poetic turn of phrase. The band will tour intensively this year: Asia tour is planned for April/May 2013; Russia week-end tour will take place in June 2013; and Canada tour in July 2013.

Review: Bravestar - Surrounded By Vultures

Just like on the previous albums, on Surrounded By Vultures Bravestar plays quite straight forward hardcore full of sing-along parts and breakdowns. It’s still aggressive, in-your-face hardcore and the band still relies heavily on thrash-inspired riffs, bumped up tempos, thick bass and intensive drum work but has also tried couple of new tricks to prevent things from getting boring. This basically means the songs got more complex with more variance in tempos and some metallic elements or even hard rock parts thrown in.

Watch 'Into The Woods' Short-Movie

Into The Woods is a short horror flick that was brought to you by Downpour Creative, the same folks that made the recent Crowd Deterrent and Race Riot videos! (as well as one by Japan's Creepout!) It follows group of kids who get themselves in serious problem when they encounter a bizarre cult when out in the woods. The movie is nicely put together and with maybe not groundbreaking, but nonetheless entertaining plot. It's an enjoyable story, well developed within a very brief running time. Written by Matt Naylor & David Wilson. Directed by David Wilson.

Review: Losin It - No Apology

The way this album flows is crazy! Each track is dope and full of hardcore rage that draws you in immediately. After pretty cool Danger Zone Ep, this is the first full length by Losin’ It and you can expect total hardcore/hardcore worship. It’s the usual bag of tricks in this style but every element is done so well that played live these tracks must make the pit go nuts.

Download: Nuke - Demo 2012

This demo came out in December '12 and features 5 tracks of metallic hardcore in 90' meaning of the word. What you can expect is tons of thrash riffs, insane vocals and some mean and crushing breakdowns. The band has ties with Lifers Records and I guess it's a good recommendation. There Comes A Time is easily my favorite track, but all of them are actually good! Influences: Slayer, Merauder, All Out War... Download it!

Video: Face Your Enemy - Do The Right Thing

My people from Italy have just dropped another video for the song off the Do The Right Thing album, this time it's the title track!

Review: Knuckledust - Bluffs, Lies & Alibis

Knuckldedust has been steadily building a reputation as one of the most ferocious bands in Europe. The combination of credibility, obvious talent, and down to earth attitude which this bands represents allows hardcore kids to immediately connect with the music and the message. I am totally into their previous albums, but this new stuff is one of the best shit they ever recorded. With Bluffs, Lies & Alibis, Knuckledust has perfected the formula that has made the band one of my favorite hardcore acts for the past few years.
