Review: Bun Dem Out - The Few The Deep

Finally I got my filthy hands on this gem. The album that was impossible to get by means other than break and enter is available for purchase legal way. The first print disappeared from the market which was fucked up. I think I’m not the only one feeling this cause dudes at Rucktion reissued this gem last year.

Musically, what can I say? Bun Dem Out is comfortably fitting in somewhere in my all-time top heavy hardcore from Europe. The music is tense and pretty uncompromising coming across like a combination of Knuckledust, Shattered Realm and Slayer. The band ape tight riffs and decent groove while Pelbu attacks his verses with brash and ignorant flow. This album never stays still and the way they put the songs together is creative but not overbearing. The style ranges from stripped down hardcore to death core, and there’s a little bit of other crazy influence that creep their way in there too. The highlights are Peruchos Tale and What? No Blaze. Weird but brutal stuff.

I hope this re-issue is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the next full length album in concerned.

Rucktion 2015

Review: Hammerfist - Zero Stone

Hammerfist - Zero Stone (Rucktion) - Fuck, this shit is heavy! Not much have changed compared to band’s previous albums but if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it. After first listen I knew I got what I expected from this album - the vocals are maniac and the riffs are massive. Much of the album has a strong old-styled metallic hardcore vibe to it that I'm really feelin. It’s kind of stuff you know from Merauder or Hatebreed albums, and it’s done so right. For more traditional, faster hardcore parts check out tracks like Carry The Weight, while Skin Change and Illusio deliver heavy breaks that weight tons.

Reviews: Crippler LBU, Kartel, True Valiance

I recently got a package from Rucktion Recs and been blasting these records for the last couple of days. Bands like Kartel or Crippler are probably either love it or hate it type of hardcore, but I got a soft spot for this sound. Nothing fancy about it, just grimy and heavy hardcore that hit the right spot. Check out the reviews after the jump!

Review: True Valiance - Expect Resistance

True Valiance hails from UK and this is their new album. The sound of Expect Resistance is heavy with a lot of 100 Demons and All Out War influences as they blend core sound with a lot of metallic riffs. Judging by the cover art and the label behind this release, I was expecting more in your face approach. In reality, the band stray more into metal territory with song structures that are more complex than your average hardcore record.
