Creepout - Tribe Called Hardcore

Creepout are well known and established Japan band. Here's the title song from their latest album "Tribe cAlled Hardcore"!

Snatch Club - Adrenaline

Snatch Club from Germany should appeal to everyone into breakdowns and double bass. And if sick and cocky lyricism is also your thing, no way you're not gonna like it.

Purification announces new CD

Purification is reforming and will release the re-issue of their latest record "Banging the drums of war" (originally out on Uprising Records) this summer on HUP supporting the European dates the band will play. There has been a quite important change in the line-up for this iconic Vegan Straight Edge band from Italy, and the upcoming CD will feature 2 bonus tracks featuring the new singer.

Here's what the band stated about the comeback:
"Purification always meant militant vegan straight edge. And in this lack of bands carrying the ideology nowadays we found the main reason to bring Purification back to life. As the spirit of the message always overwhelms the mere members of the band, we still believe that it makes sense to play and tour again even if with a major change in the line-up.

A new era in Purification history has begun carrying the same passionate spirit that made the band appreciated worldwide, that gave us wonderful memories and we are sure will give us wonderful times again.

While some people would think we are doing a mistake, or that we are doing it for the money (what money by the way), or that hate us for some reason...well, we hope you change your mind.

We are deeply connected to this reality and we still have the power to change it for the better. We believe that spreading the Vegan Edge message through the band is a powerful weapon that we have to use.

We particularly believe a new horizon is to be seen and hopefully we will accomplish something more with the comeback of Purification."

A new song will be posted monday 31st on band's Myspace.

Cornered posted new songs from the upcoming album

Living The Lie is the title of Cornered upcoming album. The band has posted couple of new tracks on their Myspace and they all sound promising! This is definitely a type of hardcore we like over here at Hardboiled webzine!

Final Prayer early recordings to be released on Let It Burn records

Let It Burn records will release early discography of Final Prayer. 'Best of Times' first and foremost documents the band's early history: From the humble beginnings, aka the demo days, to two split releases, to the first album. Second, with the demo and the split releases being long out of print, seeing copies of their demo being sold for stupid amounts of money on Ebay not only made them wish they had kept some somewhere, but also made it a necessity to make these songs accessible again for a fair price.

Earth Crisis cancel European tour

Here's the message from the band: "Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances, we will be cancelling our upcoming European dates in June/July. The good news is we'll be starting work on our new record and are shooting for a early 2011 release. Sorry Europe, we'll see you next year with a new record!!"

Eulogy Recordings signs Stand United

Eulogy Recordings are very proud to announce the signing of Iowa's Stand United They are currently recording their new album in Des Moines, IA with Dustin Miller from Audio Aggregate Studios (Fleshrot, It Prevails). Their new album will be released on Eulogy Recordings this fall. They are currently planning a fall tour to support the album.

Drummer Seth Gagle commented: "We are very excited to be signing to Eulogy Recordings. This is a huge accomplishment for all of us in the band. Some of our biggest influences and favorite bands have been on this label. We will be announcing our August tour and fall tours shortly on our Myspace and Twitter."

Eulogy owner John Wylie added, "Stand United is ready to take the world by storm. They have spent a long time preparing this record and its well worth the wait. The band will be on the road nonstop when the album comes out. Everyone will have the chance to experience their intensity first hand."

By My Hands working on a new album

Glasgow based By My Hands are working on new full length called "Growing Older...Getting Colder...". What you should expect is 9 tracks of powerful, heavy hardcore with reckless breakdowns. Note that this is their first release since CDC split that came 4 years ago. No word on the label yet but more info should be coming soon!

Cornered

Here's an interview my friend did with the band couple of months ago and it took so much time for my lazy ass to post it up. Anyway, Cornered is one of the coolest bands nowadays and it's still worth a read! They're having new album coming out this summer - don't miss it!
Here's an interview my friend did with the band couple of months ago and it took so much time for my lazy ass to post it up. Anyway, Cornered is one of the coolest bands nowadays and it's still worth a read! They're having new album coming out this summer - don't miss it!
At the beginning tell me something about you, who is who, what's the band history?
I am Niels, the singer. We started out early 2009 writing songs, we knew eachother from other bands we've played in before. Played our first show in March I think, released our demo on 7", went on tour with Deal With it, put out the split 7" with Cold Snap and so on...

In what bands did you play before Cornered?
Bands we played in before are remain, new morality, straight a's and the hunger and probably loads more.

2009 is ending. Was it a good year to Cornered as a band and to you personally?
Fuck yes, Cornered played more shows than I thought we'd do. People have been treating us really good. its awesome.

If you could change something in the passing year what would it be?
Fuck that, no regrets!

Due to dictionary 'cornered' means to be in a possition of great difficulty, brought to bay - is this definition mirroring your feelings these days? What fucks up you most?

The thing that pisses me off the most is definately people that expect to get respect when they don't give respect. Everyone feels that they deserve to be treated as some sort of god, fuck that shit. Fuck everyone.

What had the biggest influence on your music? Can you name 3 records that have shaped you as a band?

Fury of Five - At war with the World - picked this one up years ago and have been moshing to it ever since. It's not where you're from it's where you're aaaaaaaaaaaaat!

Crawlspace - Don't get mad, get even. - Belgian metalcore at it's finest (see also Length of Time/Arkangel and CONGRESS)

Knuckledust - Dustography - dont need to add anything to this. It's just a hard record.

After things you wrote im suprised that you didnt mention any bands from Cleveland. In music youre playing its easy to hear influences from bands from that city. Are you into Clevo hardcore? was bands like confront or OLC inspiration to you?

WE LOVE ONE LIFE CREW, they were definately an inspiration to us. Integrity, Face Value and fucking ringworm... you name it i love it.

You've released your 7" demo in Crucial Attack, your split with Cold Snap was released in worship rec. How did you start this cooperation?

The cooperatioin with Crucial attack was an easy one, Franke plays the guitar for us and he was stoked on putting out our demo on a 7"
With Cold Snap it was different, I liked the band and asked them if they were up for it. They had probably heard of us too and were into the idea, then Worship Records contacted us and told us they wanted to do the split which was released in November.

Are you sattisfied of this release?
I am pretty happy the way it came out, artwork looks sick and the songs are hard.

You were on tour with Deal With It. How do you remember that time? Any crazy shit happend?

People died on that tour man. It was one of the weirdest experiences I've had in my life. I can't really find words to describe the fear I was in on this trip. It was like being stuck in a van with 'that guy at the festival' for 17 days straight.

This question is literally taken from Black Dog zine - What is your opinion on the "third X"?
The whaaaaaaaaat?? I reckon the first two X'es are a lot better since they came in first. Then the third one is obviously a bit overrated.

Any final word?

DONT SAY A WORD
I WONT NEGOTIATE
NO COMPROMISE
NOW IT'S TOO LATE
FINAL WORD
THERE'S NO HELP TO FIND
FINAL WORD
REVENGE REVENGE IS MINE

FUCK LIFE FUCK LIFE FUCK LIFE FUCK LIFE FUCK LIFE FUCK LIFE

Cowardice - Grandfather

It is off of Cowardice split 7" with A Better Hope Foundation. It just came out on Anthropogenic records.

Through This Defiance - Hostility Towards the Opposition

So - one day about 6 weeks ago, i wandered to Skare Tactic's page to see what they are up to and i got directed Through This Defiance. I would not say their is a fluid exchange, but of the same ilk. The whole shared family/ex-current members incestuous feel of Donnybrook/Blood Stands Still/Skare Tactic. Despite the formal connections to the latter, i hear Folsom's sound all over this. Not just the music, but the vocal style, subkect matter, and delivery. If you enjoy any of these bands - you will dig this (not quite the thick metal of BSS, or speed and fury of ST; but it all sounds similar.
Specifics? MidTempo beatdown core. This shit is to get the kids moving on the floor. Chest pounds, pointed finger, stage dives and high fives - and that was just me alone in my room! This is pissed off. heavy, brutal hardcore with that LA street attitude. I do like how they forgo that image - and have that more social aspect in their imagery and name.

To sum up - mostly mid-tempo, high kicking beatdowns. Some songs step it up with faster beats - a great flow and balance between the songs. Double bass creeps in the fray to accompany pummeling riffs that lead to some of the best breakdowns i have heard in a while. Vocals are mostly speak words of street, the system, snake-ass liars, and the crew.

This has been getting constant play from me. Check out "How I'm Livin" & "Still Deceived" for extra heavy, thicker metal vibe; "One Life..." & "Another One..." for that bounce; "Time to Shine", "Generation Lost" "Hometown Hero" are probably my standout tracks for their straight up sore sound and fun time changes; but this whole disc is filled with winners. Big Ups!

FOR FANS OF: Folsom, Bulldoze, 25 ta Life, LA hardcore; somewhere between Mushmouth and Powerhouse...yeah, i said it!

*** and as a side note - in a perfect world; hardcore unity is prevalent and everybody that gets it is down. more variation in ethnicity would be sweet. LA seems like the place to have that happen. so i would hope women are included in this mix - with out but making it a big deal. That being said - when a tough ass band that delivers, also has a hot woman holdin it down - damn! much respect. Punk rock usually attracts the rejected; so, it's nice to see some one with beauty and brains and damn good taste in music.

TRUTHnRIGHTS - Eddie Sutton's new band

Eddie Sutton of Leeway fame is back with TRUTHnRIGHTS where he teamed with some other NYHC scene veterans! The band has uploaded couple of tracks online on their Myspace. Let's hope full length is in the works!

Spider Crew - Expect The Unexpected

Love them or hate them, Spider Crew are back and they’re still doing their thing. On Expect The Unexpected music is tied to the style band developed on their previous outputs, but at the same time they updated their sound with some fresh ideas.
They definitely have this streetcore sound down quite well and sound comfortable in this league. . The first thing I noticed is that it sounds heavier than their previous albums and I like it that way. Spider Crew is not just copying Agnostic Front riffs, but making this type of music in their own style of NYHC sound. There’s something about their music that when you hear it, you immediately know it’s them. A type of album you listen to it that immediately paints a picture in your head of you fucking the shit up at their live show. From catchy choruses to breakdowns, they keep the energy level steadily high. This is raging and straight forward hardcore with catchy hooks and aggressive vocals. On the production side, thinks are looking better than ever, with raw yet clear sound, making it easy to hear what's going on. I know this is not an album for everybody but if you’re feeling like doing some damage to public property on the Saturday night, this is just a perfect soundtrack.

Seekers Of The Truth - 2 Decades Shunning Masks

I have to be honest – last time I heard Seekers Of The Truth was on „The Nightmare Remains…” compilation about 10 years ago and as far as I remember I liked it. Since then, I haven’t kept a track of what’s been going on with this French band and now it turns out they’re celebrating 20 years of existence with this album.
Seekers Of The Truth might be not the most known group off the French scene, but they’ve been doing their thing for quite a time and this album proves they’re still good at it. I've been jamming this album everyday in my car for the last week and I have to say that they still go strong with an old school sound filled with gang vocals, memorable hooks and powerful vocals. With 20 years under their belt, band knows how to match aggressiveness and melody. Musically, they remind me of bands like Sick Of It Al or Shutdown but I wouldn’t say they sound exactly the same. They have parts made for sick circle pits, but from time to time they get heavier. There are 20 tracks in here but they pack their music with enough life and energy to keep it interesting from start to finish. There are moments here that are totally passable, it would be hard to avoid with such an amount of music, but luckily they’re few and far between. Overall, the band is not crossing any boundaries, but they simply deliver good and honest hardcore. Give it a try if you’re into old school sound!

Resilient

Resilient hail from Lima, OH and have just released split CD with Bodycheck. They hold their own when it comes to writing slick and heavy hardcore songs with an dark and emotional touch.

Band’s name: Resilient

Location: Lima, Ohio

Active since: August of 2009

How do you define your overall style?

Hardcore with influences such as thrash metal and punk.

What’s your goal with this band?

To keep making songs, releasing them, playing shows, and just having fun with everything we put ourselves into.

What do you have recorded so far?

A five song demo we recorded in the summer of 2009 and the five songs on the Bodycheck/Resilient split.

Who is who in the band and how did Resilient come about?

Addison on vocals, Ryan on drums, Danny on bass, and Kurtis and Cory on
guitar. It all started with Ryan and Kurtis making songs together slowly for a
few months and then we picked up Addison and Danny together sometime in August of
2009. We've known them for many years so it wasn't tough at all. We've been in
bands with each other before so we had no problem getting in sync with each other.
We played a few good shows together as a four piece and then we picked up our
good friend Cory in March after he moved back from New Mexico. We've also known him for a while and he's really talented, so he learned all the songs in practically no time.

Could you please tell us a little about the split you’re doing with Bodycheck? How did you hook up with them?

-We first got the idea after we played a show with Bodycheck in Marion, Indiana. They liked our set and asked us to record a split with them. And we agreed of
course. We recorded the songs back in January with Geoff Montgomery from the
Ensomberoom in Fort Wayne. We've recently gotten our artwork finished by Adam Sidwell, the brother of Bodycheck's drummer. Now we're working on sending it in to our dudes Grey and Dan at Midwestern Decline so they print 500 copies on CD.

How would you describe the music on your side of the split?

Not as "tough" or "masculine" as Bodycheck, that's for sure. We don't really know exactly how to describe our songs. Our demo and our split recordings are different styles, so we're always changing our style a little with each and every new song. These recordings, we'd consider them to be dark, groovy, and gloomy.

I’m really liking the lyrics for the new songs. What/who are your inspirations when writing?

The lyrics that I (Addie) have written for Resilient are mostly things I've written before but never had the chance to say through music. I write what I am thinking most of the time.

How did you get into the hardcore scene? What was it that made you follow this lifestyle?

It's different for every member. We had shows in Lima sometimes when we
were younger and getting interested in that music drives you to look into it more. That's what happened to us.

What’s the hardcore scene like in Ohio nowadays? What are some other bands from over there you feel everybody should give a try?

In our area, there aren't many hardcore bands. There are a lot of good bands though. If you are trying to listen to bands from the Western Ohio area, you should listen to Pizza Hi-Five and Drunk Surgeon (Grindcore from Lima) and Hookerspitwindex (Grindcore from Dayton) and Disconnected (Hardcore from Toledo). Our guitarist Cory is also playing guitar for a band called The Mighty Morphin' Methheads. They are a super fast punk band. They should have some music coming soon.

What are your plans for the future?

Touring, full length in the process, and maybe more splits. We are happy with our music but always want to progress. We're always looking for ways to tweak the bolts and make our songs tighter and better. Hopefully, we'll still be around each other long enough to really develop our music into something greater.

Anything you would like to add?

Bands come and bands go. Never count on someone else to "revive" the scene and bring
shows around the area. Go out and talk to bands and venues and keep hardcore going. Put forth an effort and have fun doing it. Don't trust record labels and big business, DIY till I die. Check up later because we're releasing a three way split with Hinder and Buckcherry. It's gonna be DOPE!

Check out their Myspace.

Why Be Something That You're Not: Detroit Hardcore 1979-1985 by Tony Rettman

In the early seventies, Detroit was the musical hub of America. Everything from the chart topping sounds of Motown records to the vicious proto-punk of The Stooges was being brewed out there and it seemed like there was no end in sight. But by the early eighties, the city was both a physical and cultural wasteland due to major label buyouts of the artists as well as the crippling drug habits of some of the others. Detroit's most known musical export at the time was the vapid sounds of New Wave heartthrobs The Romantics; this wasn't good.
It took a gaggle of suburban skateboarders, a grade school teacher and a census bureau clerk to wake this city up from its slumber and start one of the first hardcore punk scenes in America.

"Why Be Something That You're Not" chronicles the first wave of Detroit hardcore from its origins in the late seventies to its demise in the mid-eighties. Through a combination of oral history and extensive imagery, the book proves that even though the Southern California beach towns might have created the look and style of hardcore punk, it was the Detroit scene - along with a handful of other cities across the country - that cultivated the music's grassroots aesthetic before most cultural hot spots around the globe even knew what the music was about.

The book includes interviews with members of The Fix, Violent Apathy, Negative Approach, Necros, Pagans, Bored Youth, and L-Seven along with other people who had a hand in the early hardcore scene like Ian MacKaye, Tesco Vee and Dave Stimson.

To Kill is calling it quits

This is sad news for European hardcore community. Italian mosh commando To Kill announced they are calling it quit. The band has posted official statement at their Myspace.

ometimes in life you just get to the point where you need to move on.
To Kill has always been to us much much more than just playing and touring around, since we are truly each other’s family and we felt, as a whole, that it was time for this part of our life together to end, since our personal paths were going in other directions and we all felt we wanted to pursue other aspects of our lives.
Often you hear about bands breaking up and want to know what’s behind that, what’s the truth behind it and what’s to know in some generic statement, well this is not the case. We love each other more than ever, no one sold out, there’s no bad feeling of any sort, we just felt this was the right time for this adventure to go to an end, and for new stuff to happen to us. The bond we share will never break.

A while ago we recorded our last album “antarctica”, which we’re very proud of and is a sort of an epitaph for our band, testifying how we’ve grown together. we fucking love it! This record will be out this summer on let it burn records at a soon to be announced date and will be available at all of our upcoming shows, because YES, we’ll be playing some more shows.
Since we want to have the chance to say goodbye to all of you who made this ride the most incredible adventure in our lives so far, we’ll be anouncing soon a few shows scheduled for this fall both in Italy and around Europe. It would mean the world if you could show up, sing, sweat and mosh with us, so…let’s make it fucking epic, alright?

There would be a huge number of people to thank, so we will just thank all of you who made us feel privileged by touring and playing together the music that we love having the chance to say what we wanted to say, thanks for coming to shows, smiling, giving us a place to stay, buying a tshirt or just being nice . Thanks to all the ones involved in our band on a professional level, to all the bands we have been lucky enough to play with and to all those faces with no names which will be in our hearts forever.

You’ll know more about the record and about the final shows soon.”

Troublesome

PA hardcore scene has been breeding ground for many great bands and Troublesome is no exception. They have just released their debut Ep called This Hell and it's packed with some real dope and groovy tracks. They keep things heavy, but aren't afraid to play with their sound. It's one of the bands that definitely needs some more recognition so take few minutes and read what they had to say!

PA hardcore scene has been breeding ground for many great bands and Troublesome is no exception. They have just released their debut Ep called This Hell and it's packed with some real dope and groovy tracks. They keep things heavy, but aren't afraid to play with their sound. It's one of the bands that definitely needs some more recognition so take few minutes and read what they got to say!

Hey guys! Could you introduce your band for those unfamiliar?

Kevin: Sure. Troublesome is a hardcore band hailing from the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. We have all been or are in other bands. John currently plays in Daylight and CDC while Kyle and myself left CDC about 3 years ago. Adam used to be in a band called Straight Up!, and Cody is in Barricade.

Tell us a little bit about This Hell. What bands, books, movies or ideas were a main source of inspiration for this album, both musically and lyrically?

Kevin: Personally, while writing the music for our EP, I was listening to a lot of Buried Alive, Trapped Under Ice, Alpha & Omega, and Terror. Movie wise, I watch True Romance at least once a week. It's my favorite movie of all time. One of our songs entitled "Manovan" I actually wrote for CDC. We even recorded it without any vocals in 2005. It just never fit the mold of what we were going for then. Once we started Troublesome John, Kyle and myself decided to dust it off and revamp it. The end is completely different from the original song. I like it better now. Plus I think Adam made the song one of my favorites lyrically.

Adam: I wouldn't really say a lot of movies, books, or bands inspired me much during "this hell" I watch a lot of cheesy comedy's and love 90's R&B. I actually wasn't going to write anything, or even go through with being in the band still until last minute. I got the tracks and had some shit to get off my chest. So I went with it and now I'm glad I did.

Is there a concept behind the artwork? Has it any connection with the lyrics?

Kevin: Cody really came through with the art. Looks so cool and professional. I almost felt it was "too" professional looking at first, but it did such a great job of reflecting the mood of Adam's lyrics.

Cody: A lot of Adam's lyrics are very dark and depressing, which I love and wanted to express for "This Hell." The image of a person walking down what seems to be a cold dark road really fit exactly what I felt Adam was going through. Props to Kurt Fowles from Years Spent Cold for the logo; he designed it for a flyer advertising the release of the demo and I totally ripped it. The artwork for the Pre-order cover was for Kevin and his love for The Warriors, and the Record Release cover was for Adam since he thinks he's as hard as Tupac. Haha.

Adam: I love Tupac...

What was the hardest part in terms of actually creating This Hell?

Kevin: Honestly, me, John and Kyle have been playing together for so long that it all came pretty naturally. I would bring the majority of a song to practice, Kyle would add his parts and ideas, then John would bring it all together. Adam would even give his own input. Dude has a crazy good ear for what works.

Adam: Recording. I get side tracked and forget words. My voice wasn't very strong. It had been a while since I recorded last and I blew it out a couple times.

Where do you stand with labels? I see you’re working with On The Attack and Street Survical records.

Kevin: We self released our EP "This Hell" as a demo entitled "The Lonely Street of Dreams." Literally like a week after it hit the internet Timo from Street Survival asked if he could release it on vinyl in Europe. We got like 100 copies to distribute in the US. It was a small release. Worked out nice. We have been friends with Sammy from OTA Records for years since our CDC days. He used to book us in NYC all the time. When we released our last record I initially reached out to him to put it out in the US but the label had kind of slowed down a bit at that point. After our record came out, Sammy had started to reboot OTA and asked if we wanted him to put out our next EP. It all fell into place. We still design our own merch, pay for our own recording, and drive our cars to the shows we play. We are DIY all the way, which is why we said yes to Sammy. He runs a small DIY label.

How important was for you to have it out in vinyl format? Are you vinyl collectors yourself?

Kevin: I know that John and I both collect vinyl. But to be honest, I think I am the worst in the band. I have hundreds of records. This is the first release I have ever had for any of my bands actually come out on vinyl so needless to say I was super stoked.

John: Records are cool. I have some.

Adam: Kids dig the vinyl. I don't have any actually. But it's cool with me.

How is PA hardcore scene at the moment?

John: PAHC is the top tier. We got bomb ass greats as well as current awesome bands. Shows are poppin and support can be great across the state. Hard mosh all over. From Erie, to Pittsburgh, to Philly and its surrounding suburbs, shit be off the hook.

Adam: The whole state has nothing but the best to offer. Shows, bands, & kids.

Kevin: The PAHC scene is finally starting to bounce back after a couple years of dormancy. Granted, Philly has always had bigger shows, but our scene was missing the suburban aspect that we used to have. Our singer Adam, has with a little help from some friends revitalize our scene with Stay On Point Booking (http://www.myspace.com/stayonpointbooking, http://www.pahardcore.com/stayonpointbooking). We have a full time venue at our disposal, security and a steady flow of bands looking to play some fun shows. It's amazing.

Which other bands from over there (PA) are you listening to at the moment?

Kevin: There are a couple bands from Pa that I cannot stop listening to right now. Bands like Agitator, Rock Bottom, Daylight, What It Takes, Balance & Composure, Title Fight, Hard To Kill, & Steel Nation are really starting to make a name for themselves. Wisdom In Chains is of course a PAHC staple.

Adam: Balance And Composure (my favorite in the area right now), Run For It (good new pop punk), Twin Killing (so under rated), the new Strength For A Reason album was mighty. Mother Of Mercy is doing big things which is cool. Agitator and Rock Bottom are something to definetly look out for. Hard To Kill, Rivers Of Nihil, Dead End Path, Concrete Reality. My Turn To Win are soo good (they're only half PA but it counts).

John: Mother of Mercy, Unit 731, Steel Nation, Taste the Steel, Title Fight, Rock Bottom, Agitator, Derek Skis Redbull song, Balance and Composure, Tigers Jaw, Dead End Path, Vow of Hatred, Trainwrecker, Bad Seed, Manbreed, etc.

Cody: Twin Killing, Look on the Bright Side, River's of Nihil, and John's other band Daylight have been on repeat for me. Also, congrats to Mother of Mercy on their recently signing to Bridge Nine; one of my favorites for a while now.

For those who haven’t seen you, what can we expect from an Troublesome live show?

John: Drunk sloppy guitar and high pitched/pre-pubescent yelping. Maybe a cover that we don't know how to play.

Kevin: Hahahaha! I would say fun. That's why we started this band. To play music with our best friends, have fun, and play some shows.

Adam: Not always drunk playing. It's a good time.

Do you still have the time to go to shows other than the ones you play?

Kevin: I go to as many as I can personally. I got married this year so it's a little harder to get out hahaha. I know John, Adam and Cody frequent shows a lot more than Kyle and I.

John: All the time.

Adam: All the time.

So what should we expect from Troublesome in the future?

Kevin: Well, in May we head into Skylight Studios to record with Vince Ratti (The Wonder Years, Rock Bottom, Shattered Realm, Circa Survive, A Life Once Lost). The EP has no name yet, I can tell you that it is 4 brand new songs and on the cd version our "This Hell" EP will be thrown onto the end.

Adam: Live nude set.

John: KTHC

Any last things you'd like to say?

John: France sucks, sorry French.

Adam: Top 5 worst things in the world. In order.
5. Gnats
4. Sneezing
3. Raisins
2. The band 311
1. Cotton

Kevin: Everyone should try to come to PA for the East Coast Tsunami Festival this year. It features Sick of It All, H20, Earth Crisis, Mushmouth (Reunion), Dysphoria (Reunion), Fury of Five (Jam), Death Threat, Troublesome, and many many more! Skam Dust - Corona Drug Bust and more...

Skam Dust, from the womb of Skarhead, is a thunderbolt of terror, internationally known and locally hated; he is here to sabotage the stage. Your favorite hero got his start when he was on the lam in the mid-'90s touring with the infamous Skarhead getting a better taste of N.Y.H.C., partnering in crime with Lord Ezec from Jackson Heights. Skam was destined to rock the mic and stir up chaos in the underground with his brothers from the world famous D.M.S. Crew...

After the legendary Skarhead tour, Lord Ezec told Skam he should start a band and then Son Of Skam was born!!! They did a few things here and there but never really went full throttle with the music. With three other singers in the group Skam needed to do his own shit and show the world how this crazy Cuban/Dominican destroys the mic.

In the words of Skam:

"My lyrics tell my story in the most explicit way possible. These stories are informed by who I am and where I grew up: the Bermuda Triangle of NY called Corona Queens and known to many as Spaghetti Park. These streets are full characters and this is where my inner circle and story began.

I recall a time when the police and the public were in a state of panic caused by the 44 Killer, otherwise known as the Son Of Sam, he was on the loose and filling the city with terror. Meanwhile NYC was undergoing a city-wide blackout, it was wild. I share moments like this and speak about the days when crack cocaine was destroying lives and graffiti was on every subway train.

My lyrics reminisce about the days spent riding shotgun with my dad, who worked many hours as a NYC yellow cabbie. Through these rides I glimpsed a world outside of my own neighborhood. I met some real New Yorkers and heard their stories; authentic taxi-cab confessions. Today I write to bring my New York City experience to life. As I say in “Five Borough Manhunt”, “If the streets could talk, you wouldn’t want to walk it/ Eyes and hearts have been taken by the pocket.” To understand more, listen to the music and check my new video."

Fast forward to 2010 where Skam Dust is ready to bring you his first full length album "Corona Drug Bust" with a whole bunch of new tunes as well as the classic Son Of Skam tracks! The title track and lead single has guest vocals from long time friend Freddy Madball and the video they shot also features Damian Burnz and Peter Greene... Danny Diablo aka Lord Ezec (Skarhead, Crown Of Thornz), Grizz Rock (Ruff Ryders, Shotblockers), Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis) all laid out guest verses on Skam's latest effort... This is true thug-core straight from “The Rotten Apple!!!”. Skam Dust is ready to rock!

Cruel Hand will drop new album out July 27th

Poised to be one of the hardest records of 2010, Lock & Key is Cruel Hand's third full-length (second album for Bridge Nine) and will be available on July 27th, 2010! Full of just as many catchy, metallic riffs as mosh parts, Lock & Key is a nice mix of Madball, Leeway, Cro-Mags, Metallica, Suicidal, Obituary, etc., and is one of the most well-rounded hardcore albums in recent memory. Lock and Key was recorded last month in Wakefield, MA with producer Jay Maas (Verse, Bane, Defeater) and illustrates what Cruel Hand is capable of both lyrically and musically.

Vocalist Chris Linkovich said, "Lock & Key is definitely not a 'Prying Eyes Part 2'. It's not just a progression either, we feel like this is our defining release. We weren't scared to bring all of our influences to the table, no matter what the genre of music. We spent a lot more time with guitar sounds, a lot of layering and melody and other second guitar work. As far as lyrics, I reached my goal of working with a lot of different subject matters and also using a little bit of melody with different vocal patterns and delivery. The record is ill and we listen to it every day."

Since the release of Cruel Hand's Bridge Nine debut, Prying Eyes, in 2008, the band has been a relentless touring machine and one of the tightest bands in the hardcore world. Cruel Hand has shared the stage with bands like Have Heart, Bane, Terror, Death Before Dishonor, and more, and will continue to tour the globe non-stop in support of Lock & Key. Stay tuned to Bridge9.com for details, tour announcements, and more to be announced soon!
