RoughneckMedia: Look my Way Album Release Show

Look My Way have just dropped new album entitled Mentality and celebrated this with album release show in Duisburgm Germany last Saturday! My people from Roughneck Media have visited the show to document this epic event and of course filmed all the bands playing there: World Eater, The Platoon, The Ice, Surge of Fury and Look My Way! The first vids are already online - featuring World Eater, The Platoon and The Ice. The rest will follow in the upcoming days, so make sure you subscribe to their Youtube channel! World Eater gave a solid performance, I don't know why everyone is hiding in the back of the venue?

Review: Strength Approach - Roma Hardcore State of Mind

Strength Approach seems to be one of the longest running bands from Italy, I even remember that one of their tracks was featured on the classic Call For Unity compilations by Back Ta Basics. It’s good to see them still going strong! The band makes absolutely no effort to hide their influences and the whole thing speaks of NYHC sound, bringing to mind classic albums we all grew up on. While their early releases were more youth crew oriented, in recent years their style progressed towards harder sound. It combines the rawness of Agnostic Front with energy of Sick Of It All, but they put their own spin on everything so it’s cool and the tracks don’t feel forced.

Black Rebels Recs drops debut ep by Death Camp

Black Rebel Records has released Teenage Nightmare EP by Death Camp. As the label descibes it, "The band plays heavy, almost metallic H/C, with their influences ranging equally from stuff like Sheer Terror & Warzone as well as The Replacements, Suede & Sisters of Mercy." I can only add that the ep rips and everyone who can should get it! You can listen to the whole EP for free here.

Download: Cold Reality - Demo 2013

Mad thanks to Straight On View for putting me onto this band. Cold Reality hails from Hungary but they sound like they could be straight from Texas or Pennsylvania. The demo delivers mean and tough hardcore with strong vocals spitting about fucked up things in this world - backstabbers, apathy, self-rightous pricks and so on. The recording quality is raw as fuck, but if you can get pass that there's definitely talent to be found. Download it!

DYW Records to drop Mark My Words' Indicators album on vinyl

Here's are the words from my people from DYW Records: We're stoked to finally have a release date for the European vinyl release of the Mark My Words "Indicators" LP. Originally only released on CD in Australia later last year on Skull & Bones Records, we're proud to release this great piece of hardcore here in Europe and on wax! For those of you not familiar with the Central Coast quintet, since their first EP in 2009, these guys have been delivering some heavy hardcore to the masses, reminiscent of legendary Madball and Terror with the more modern touch of bands like The Ghost Inside. The LP will feature a brand new artwork and will drop just in time for the band's European tour supporting Strength Approach. Listen to a couple of their songs in the player on our website, start moshing and expect some news about pre-orders at some point during the summer! Mark My Words and Strength Approach will be touring Europe from September 20th to October 6th. The show is managed by Stronger Bookings, so make sure you get in touch with them if you want to book a show in your hometown and e-mail them at: strongerbookings [at] gmail.com.

Video: Angel Dust - Slam

Short, but cool video from Angel Dust, a new band with members from Trapped Under Ice, Mindset and couple more Baltimore bands.

Horror: Night Of The Living Punks

Small town punk rockers THE BRAIN DEADS have their first out of town gig. But there are a few problems: The venue is deserted, the promoter is a creep, their bass player has gone missing, and the only kids in the audience appear to be bloodthirsty monsters from hell. It's gonna take a lot more than a few power chords and teenage angst to survive this night.

Night of the Punks is low-budget 80′s slasher worship with a style bringing to mind Troma classics or Night Of the Living Dead flicks. The movie was directed by Dan Riesser and got everything you'd want from this type of movie. The right amount of gore and bad humor makes it actually fun to watch.

Download: Pantah - Demo 2013

I came across this band by accident but it turns out it's damn solid demo. Pantah hails from The Netherlands and delivers powerful NYHC-influenced hardcore with agressive attitude and good skills. If a band names Warzone, Cro-Mags, Youth of Today and Judge you know it's gonne be the shit. The demo is available on tape from War Inside Records. Highly recommended stuff, we need more bands like this! Download it!

Summer Of Hate 2013

Fucking yeah! This is awesome! Summer Of Hate 2013 line up is One Life Crew, Merauder, Stout, Crowd Deterrent, Life After Death, Taste The Steel, King Nine and more! That's more toughness and testosterone than UFC event! July 13th, Grog Shop, Cleveland, Ohio!

Upperhand is about to bring hardcore pride back with Chains of Shame 7"

Mind Rot Records will be releasing Richmond, VA's Upperhand debut 7" called "Chains of Shame." As the label says, "featuring members of Break Away and Friend or Foe this record should please anybody who is fans of Murphy's Law, Breakdown and the Cro-mags." I love all of these bands and I am sure I will love Upperhand when I hear the 7". Show your support and buy pre-orders here.

Listen to World Gone Mad by Demolition

Demolition's new 7 inch, World Gone Mad, will be out on Trible B records. The band is from Canada and plays fast and tight hardcore. The title track is mental!

New Shin To Shin track proves Aaron Melnick is genius

Shin To Shin is a band of Aaron Melnick of Integrity/In Cold Blood fame and they got new tune on recent A389 MMXIII digital mixtape. Check out their tune here.

Joe Lauzon: "The Problem Solver"

Here's a cool documentary which was published in December 2012 as a part of Vice's Fightland series, filmed and directed by McFarland & Pecci. If you're scratching your head cause the name Ian McFarland sounds familiar, it's possibly because he used to play bass for Blood For Blood before pursuing full-time documentarian and commercial director career. Judging from the clip, Joe Lazon is a really cool and intelligent dude and I respect that he is not taking the easiest route, but instead choses the hard way to make his dreams reality. You might know him from The Ultimate Fighter 5, but here's more insight into his mindset as a figher and what motives him to go on. After watching this, also check out documantary about Dan Hardy, which was also filmed by McFarland & Pecci.

Clenched Fist streams Guns N' Roaches

Clenched Fist posted new track, Guns N' Roaches! Shit is powerful!

Download: Side Split - 2nd Self Demo

This Chicago band delivers real hard tunes on what I suppose is their debut demo. 2nd Self boasts 4 tracks of raging hardcore, simple and aggressive with tons of energy. There is some thrash feel in their music which I like, and some of the riffs and hooks are above average. I dig that the band is far from boring, but they know that hardcore should be delivered raw and uncompromising. Perfect example that you don't have to stretch out songs to sound good if you know what you’re doing. Side Split have really earned my respect with that demo. Download it!

HB Radio #8 - Trouble Shooters

Here’s a nice little collection of bad-ass hardcore to start April with! 20 tracks in 45 minutes. From old school to new school, these are all legit bands that proudly represent what’s important in hardcore – hard work, dedication, tattoos and being awesome all the way. Just check out the first track by Reality Check, which I personally think are the future of hardcore in Europe. Apart from RC, it features tracks from Warbrain, Life After Death, Mad World, Crowd Deterrent, The Killer, Rotten Souls and many more. Good chance to check out new bands if you don’t know some of these names! You can open it in a pop-up window for more convenience.

New Blood: Disapproval

Dissaproval hails from Southern California and has cought my attention with their debut ep, El Monte Youth Authorite. It delivers five hard-ass tunes played the way it should be - straight to the point and nothing too much intelectual. Check out short interview with the band.

Video: Terror - The Most High

Great song, great video! This one shows the band on the road and is as hardcore as it gets.

Live Footage: Iron Boots at United Blood 2013

Judging by the comments, pics and live videoes that pop up around Internet, United Blood 2013 was a blast. EpicMoments have uploaded some footage from the fest, you can check it out here. Check out Iron Boots performance above, one of my favorite bands.

Video: Truth In Needles - Keep Me Down

Truth In Needles never gives up when it comes to bringing that raw NYHC sound. They stuff remind me a lot of classic 90' East Coast stuff, probably if they were active back then they would end up on Back To Basics or Too Damn Hype. Here's the latest video from the band, another one from the Turning Gray Black album. DIY!

Download: New World - Demo 2013

Heavy, but slick hardcore from this Southern California band. Don't know much about the New World, but it seems to be band's debut release. What you get is intro plus five tracks of intense hardcore that have a right balance between heavy grooves and faster parts. Traditional hardcore vocals are solid and work fine with the music. Southern Rush is my fav track, mostly due to powerful heavy groove and overall energy it has. Overall, some of these songs are real badass and I hope to hear this stuff recorded with better quality. Download it!

Awesome new releases from Take It Back Records

Take It Back Records has announced couple of exciting news. All Over LP by Kids Insane is out now. The band hails from Tel Aviv, Israel, and "play an insane mix of angry, yet melodic punk-rock (think Small Brown Bike) and modern hardcore (think American Nightmare, Modern Life Is War, Verse, and Refused). Originally released as a CD-only album on Third Time Lucky Records, this album is now released on vinyl for the first time in co-operation by You're Next Records, Crapoulet Records, Derrick Hunter Records, and Take It Back." 100 copies of this awesome album, 80 on multi-colored splatter vinyl and 20 on black, are available. Deadverse is an upcoming release which should be out soon. "'Carpet Burns' has been on heavy rotation at the TAKE IT BACK HQ for weeks. These songs are even better that "Caution To The Wind". Again co-released with Adagio830. Hopefully out in May." The label will also release new self-titled 7" by Reality Returns, members of Coldburn and Teamkiller new band. "Heavy straight edge hardcore with an agenda."

Be first to get the new Cold Hearted 7"

Cold Hearted pre-Orders are now up and Life To Live records webstore! The 7″ has five new tracks and is available on three different colors of vinyl. 500 EP’s will be pressed.

Free label sampler worth checking out!

Video: Reign Supreme - Stuck Pig, Bled Dry

Reign Supreme has posted new video for Stuck Pig, Bled Dry off of band's latest ep, Sky Burial. What hits me the most is how heavier and more metal sound it has compared to their old recordings. I don't really think it's a change for better. If history of bands like Throwdown has taught us anything, is that you don't fuck with metal sound if your hardcore sound is cool enough. But... judge for yourself.

Review: Hammerfist - Isolation

This new mcd by Hammerfist is five tracks strong and each one hits hard with focus and intensity. Staying true to their hardcore roots, most of the tracks come and go in a less than two minutes, but there’s enough talent and good ideas here to keep things varied. From the very beginning you get a sense that the band put a lot of effort into song writing, as all the tracks are well structured and keep the right balance between being engaging and aggressive.

Download: Overpain - Underrated Overhated

Overpain hails from Salonika City, Greece and plays brutal and heavy hardcore that fans of Fury Of V, Out To Win or Knuckledust should dig. The band is at their best during the faster and more dynamic songs, but fans of breakdowns shouldn't be dissapointed neither. The one impressing feature of the album is a long list of guest features. Dudes like Olle and Rickard from Bitter Taste Of Life, Jon from Warhound, Jake from Hammerfist or Gerardo from No Zodiac lend vocals on couple of the songs. Actually, the list is even longer but you get the picture. I have no clue how managed to get all those people involved, but it works for album's advantage in my opinion. Props to the band for letting everyone download the album for free. Download it!

Emanuel Newton kicks Nazi ass at Strife show

Some people never learn but maybe some ass-kicking will put some sense into their heads. Some nazi morons fucked with the wrong man at a Strife show and got served real bad. Here's how Emmanuel Newton recalls the whole situation during an interview for Sherdog.com: “I went to this show -- it wasn’t a hardcore show by any means, but maybe some of the older guys would consider it to be hardcore. Strife, in my opinion, was really the only true hardcore band on this show. I guess those skinheads kind of frequent that place. I haven’t seen skinheads at a hardcore show since, like, 2001. I saw them, and I was like, ‘Great,’ but there were also a lot of hardcore kids who were there to see Strife, and we definitely outnumbered the skinheads.”

“The pit had just started, and I could really tell that they were checking us out. I started circle-pitting, and a guy tried to trip me. I turned and looked, and I knew it was a white power guy. One guy had ‘white power’ tattooed on the back of his head. I went over to my friends and told them to keep their eyes open.”

“After I warned my boys, one of those guys came up and just blatantly took a swing at me. I saw it coming, of course, so I slipped it and threw a punch that dropped him and put him out. [His friends] then started jumping in. I think one of them shot a double-leg on me, and I was up against the stage. Then some white power girl came up and started swinging at me. I just tucked my chin, put my head down and said, ‘Go ahead and punch me in my forehead and the top of my head all you want. You’re just going to have a broken hand in the morning.’ “All my buddies jumped in, and they just demolished the guys. I didn’t have to do anything more, because all my boys either train MMA or they fight, too. So they came in and just smashed the guys.”

Reality Check and xDigx team up for a split 7"

Power Play drops new ep and it rips!

Video: No Turning Back - Stand & Fight + Your Downfall

Fuck yeah, this band is awesome! If you think different, you know shit about hardcore. No Turning Back has just dropped new video that shows what a badass this band is.

Look My Way has posted another new track, entitled Mentality, from band's upcoming full length of the same name. The album is due out on BDHW Records.

RoughneckMedia: Still Ill live footage

Roughneck Media Showcase is one of the coolest youtube channels to follow. They got tons of great live footage from bands like Terror, No Turning Back, Desolated, Survival and much more. Always except great image and sound quality from these dudes, and most of the shows are shoot with multiple cameras. I could post links to my fav videos by them, but just go to their channel profile and check which vids are most interesting to you. Still Ill footage from band's CD release show is the last stuff they posted, that's why it's here.

Deadscore and Beyond My Rage joining forces

The Real Deal split is a collaboration of Deadscore and Beyond My Rage. Both bands hail from Malaysia and both deliver heavy hardcore. Fans of beatdown style should check it out!

Hounds Of Hate announces new album

I don't know much details but obviously Hounds Of Hate will be dropping new LP. The album will be released by Painkiller Records. Hope it's gonna be ready for Euro tour this summer!

Violent Reaction to release new album

Straight edge posse Violent Reaction is dropping new 12" album soon. Also, re-release of band's 7" is planned. As the band said: "In addition to the 12" that will be out in a few weeks, 6131 Records/Mind Rot are co-releasing a US press of our 7", should be out by Damaged City Fest in DC." Keep your eyes open! The band will be touring with Hounds Of Hate this summer.

Download: Sabotage - Demo II

Violent and chaotic hardcore with a dirty sound and disorted vocals. Some fucked up tunes, if you ask me, but it has some appeal. It's fast, but also got some cool breakdowns. Not the music I usually dig, but it's not bad. If you like it, you can order tape from Climbin' Aboard Records. Tape artwork is brilliant, worth having on your shelf. Download it!

Check new track by Pushed Too Far

Pushed Too Far posted new track, Nothing Remains, taken from the upcoming album of the same name. You can listen to this new shit here.

Cro Mags Live at the Key Club (LA)

All you hippies better start to face reality. This is nice live video taken from Cro-Mags' show in LA. Put together by Todd Newman for your viewing pleasure.
