Bitter Thoughts from Chicago and Facewreck from Liège, Belgium will drop split sometime in 2013. More info coming soon!

Bloodstained - Negativity

It's been three years since the band's latest album Saligia came out, but it's just now that Bloodstained releases a video for the Negativity track. It takes you on a trip through sick imagery, brutal visions, smut and filth of life. If Gaspar Noe was making clips for hardcore bands, the outcome would be something like Negativity. If you claim to be into heavy metallic hardcore and are not familiar with Bloodstained, you should be ashamed. The band is one of the best in heavyweight hardcore division, and as brutal as hardcore gets. Think like combination of Shattered Realm and Kickback with lots of sick, twisted shit on top.

Iron Grip - Demo 2012

This is very short 3-songs demo from Denver's Iron Grip filled with fucking rugged, in-your-face hardcore. Tons of NYHC grooves, thrash parts and pissed-off vocals make for some killer outcome and all tracks are guaranteed to make your head nod. It's a prefect taster of what this band got to offer on his forth coming album as their facebook states they are working on new EP, probably on Breakout Records. Download it!

Olde York - Shallow World

Just like on previous album, these cats still stick to the classic sound that New York city is famous for and they do it just right. Shit is NYHC to the bone, but Olde York puts their own twist on it so it’s more about paying respect to genre tradition than copying other bands. The energy of these songs is incredible and each track has its own character and vibe. You can hear they feel at ease with what they’re doing cause everything flows together so smoothly.

Bottom Out posted new track

Bottom Out posted new track on their bandcamp profile, entitled Letters From Earth! So see the ruse, with it's end in bloom, to see this strife and these vices tear their way through you. I always knew, to put no faith into the shit you talk, and the hate you spew. If the Devil is the author, then I serve as the pen. Watch your seed rot; wicked, through the hearts of men. So as I walk, and I'm shadowed by death I beg you bury me face down, tired and faithless.

Grim - Demo 2012

Fucking hell, that is some hard-ass shit. Grim definitely is hardcore, but they take a lot of metal influences to give their music more force. It's mid-tempo grooves most of the times, but because they keep their songs rather short it doesn't get boring that fast. Don't know much about the band reall, but I hope to hear more from them in the future! Download it!

Demonwomb Interview

Crossover sound which combines the best elements of hardcore and thrash metal is what to be expected from the debut EP by Austria-based Demonwomb. Think some Cro-Mags mixed with Pantera mixed with Slayer, and the whole stuff is played with finesse and skills above average. The band shares it for free, but 7” version is also available from Power Trip Records. Check out the interview with Sandro, who plays the bass, who shares some background info about the band, new EP and hardcore in Vienna!

Halftime - Demo 2012

Some harsh but neat hardcore from this San Diego band. There's a strong NYHC vibe here, think names like Breakdown or even Biohazard in the harder parts, and a lot of fuck-the-world attitude which I like. I dig the Suffer The Pain song, with the massive stomping part, nice solo at the end and general crossover feeling. The other songs are solid as well, but this one is my fav. Check the band's facebook profile and download the demo here.

Trailer for Population Control by No Zodiac

Dogchains - Demo 2012

Just a quick look at band's name and the cover of their first demo tells me we're dealing with something every hardcore connoisseur will appreciate. Dogchains is from Germany and is down with straight edge lifestyle. The music has a classic NYHC vibe to it, with some melodies in the guitar parts and strong groove laid down by the rhythm section. I can image the band causes some serious pit damage during the breakdown parts! The demo quality is top notch and you can hear all the instruments clearly. Definitely worth checking out! Download it!

Vinyl of Can't Relate 2008 Demo coming soon

Ugly and Proud Records will release the 2008 demo of Can't Relate on vinyl. Here's some bio information about the band: "Can't Relate was a hardcore band formed in the Summer of 2007. They didn't have merch, social media or a demo recorded before their first show; in fact, they were probably the only hardcore band in Australia at the time. Between October 2007 and November 2008, they spent more time playing shows
and practicing then they did editing their myspace layout and promoting the band on the internet. The band was an outlet for everything wrong with hardcore and society at the time, and still is today. If you like Floorpunch, Right Brigade, Mental, Stop and Think, Chain of Strength or Carry On you will definitely dig this. These tracks were released by the band in 2008 and are now finally available on three colours of wax. Artwork is a collaboration between German graffiti-artist Jym and cartoonist Javi from Spain.

Bottomfeeder Interview

It seems that the sole purpose of Bottomfeeder’s existence is to bring the glorious style of 90’ tough metallic hardcore back on the map. No band can go wrong when taking Merauder, All Out War or Earth Crisis as their musical influences, and Bottomfeeder executes this style for perfection. If you mix it with hard-hitting lyrics that jump from personal issues to more global concerns, it’s an ultimate killer. This interview is for those who dig band’s latest output, II ep, as well as for those not familiar.

The SOSF Worldwide Split - Volume 3

SOSF bands never let down when it comes to that ignorant and reckless hardcore this scene needs so much. The general idea behind this album is getting 3 SOSF bands on one CD, each band representing different country where SOSF cartel has established its base: US, Germany and Japan. The first band is Cold Reign out of Indiana with short intro and 3 hard as nails hardcore tracks that all are bangers. The Noose is the catchiest tune on the album, driven by tight groove and double bass action, topped with hard as nails vocal. The band has that heavy sound Midwest is known for, bringing the best elements of 90’ and 00’ tough guy hardcore. No bullshit, just some straight up dynamic and intense tracks.

Reality Check - Sacrifice

One of the tracks from a 7" compilation of some of the finest young Polish Hardcore bands. All songs for this release are exclusive. You can buy it here.

Vision of Disorder - Hard Times

Hard Times from the new album The Cursed Remain Cursed on Candlelight Records.

Sike - Demo 2012

Giving props to the East European hardcore, here's Sike from Kiev, Ukraine. The band is about straight edge and plays straight up old school hardcore with NYHC leanings. The songs are damn catchy. It has members of some local bands, namely Clearsight, Bluesbreaker and Honesty, so the guys know how to handle their instruments. The recording quality of the demo is good - not too clean, not too raw. All in all, very cool record and I hope to hear more from them in the future! Download it!

Hard Resistance Interview

If you were around in the 90’ and knew anything about the hardcore scene, you must have came across the thing called streetcore or eurocore which simply meant raw and harsh hardcore with strong NYHC influences and working class mindset. These were the good old days when shaved head and army camouflage shorts was the most stylish thing hardcore kids could think of. Hard Resistance were one of the major names in this genre and with album titles like Engine of Hate or Psycho Tales you bet it was great stuff. After the band took a break for couple of years, they got their shit together recently, released new album and started playing shows again. Here’s the interview so you know what’s up with the band nowadays!

Decent Living - Demo 2012

Decent Living hails from New York and got that NYC sound everyone loves. The demo is pretty rough, but still dope. The band opts for mid-tempo grooves instead of going forward with breakneck speed and there's a nice metallic feel to the songs as well. This demo has been recorded 100% DIY and gives you good example what band is capable of, but I would love to hear this songs with some better production. Download it!
