After countless shows and endless touring allover the world, Pennsylvania's one and only COOL DUDES CHILLIN' finally find some time to record 5 new songs for their longawaited FWH debut release. And people don't will be disappointed. The band continues the musical path they started with their successful 2003 Demo incl. hits like "Crowd war" and "This is forever", mixing up plain and simple PA-styled Hardcore with plenty of Breakdowns, Mosh and Singalongs. In the past years CDC rose up and built a name solely upon desire and devotion to the music and the road. Never riding coattails and never sucking dick. And now it's time for the next chapter in the CDC history.Posted: 2/16/2009

Onesta - We Got GameIt’s really hard not to notice the amount of good bands here in Europe that pick up the torch that was ignited by those like Agnostic Front or Breakdown. With the latest successful releases by No Turning Back, 1125, Grankapo or Last Hope, the competition is high and you gotta step up with something special to get noticed. With their first release for Goodlife, Onesta proves they got what it takes.
The band enters the game with a certain freshness and vitality in their sound that make for a really tight record. Onesta are definitely NYHC style and they have much In common with bands like No Turning Back or Madball. The level of song writing and musicianship is good and they deliver some really nice sounding hooks. This is in the finest traditions of the genre and even thought there’s nothing particularly new here that you haven’t heard before, it’s still very enjoyable. Originality is not what I look for in hardcore anyway. They constantly keep the energy level up and that’s what does it for me. The band packs a huge punch of aggression with fat guitar licks and a slamming rhythm section. Even thought the style they play originated in NYC, Onesta remind me mostly of an European band No Turning Back in a way they put the focus on the flow and grooves of the songs instead of just trying to sound hard or heavy. Each track just shoots through the speakers with aggressiveness and energy. The production is a perfect blend between clear sound and the rough edge. If you’re NYHC fan, then you are gonna have a blast with this release.

Hard Work - Not One Step BackIt was probably one of the most anticipated albums for 2008 for me. Now that that album has finally dropped, I can safely say it was worth waiting for. Not One Step Back burst of aggression and nerve.
Hard Work has been around for a couple of years but I would say this record seems to be special for them – it’s like a new lease of life for the band. No doubt, the tracks on this one are the best they ever recorded and the production is superior to anything before it. For those who don’t know, the band plays NYHC brand of hardcore with references to bands like Madball or Breakdown among others. They stick to the proven formula but put a lot of effort into song writing and there’s a surprising amount of variety to the songs. The riffs are thick and chuggy and backed by a powerful rhythm section and strong vocals. Majority of the time the band rely on fast and mid tempos but they throw in a good breakdown now and then. Most of the material is catchy and memorable and demonstrates the bands tight musical skills. Lyrically, they maintain a good balance between personal/real life topics and some slightly socio-critical stuff. Like I said, I’ve been waiting for this shit to be out and I can say I am not disappointed at all. I can guarantee that by the time you’ve listened to it a handful of times you’ll find yourself moshing around your room like crazy! This disc is simply not to be missed if you dig bands like Death Before Dishonor, Madball or Death Threat!

Stuff recorded so far: We had recorded 3 songs, written in Bulgarian. We recorded them mostly in Wardrobe Records – this is our guitarist’s, Bobi, studio in his apartment in the living room! The third song has guest vocals – Simona from Let Them Die and Ivelin from Shoot 2 Kill.
How did it happen that you got a girl doing vocals? It’s pretty unusual for a beatdown hardcore band, even thought works great for you!

Storming out of their hometown of Auckland, The Rabble are exploding out of New Zealand and into the hearts of punks worldwide. Harnessing the advantages of both experience and youth, this powerful and passionate band have been a band for over seven years but they’re still only just out of their teenage years and are truly unstoppable. One listen to the gravelly vocals and infectious soulful punk anthems on their 16-track second album ‘The Battle’s Almost Over’ and you’ll be hooked.
This edition of the album is a 6 panel digi-pak including BONUS videos and a poster. Pre-order now for a Feb 28 release and get FREE postage.

Apocalypse Now - Empires FallThose familiar with Apocalypse Now style of blending hardcore and metal can rest assured knowing that not much has changed since his last album, Confrontation With God. While most of the tracks on this new one follow the same pattern, they’ve managed to take things to the next level with even more intensity and vitality packed into these songs.
This is a type of hardcore that put the chill down my spine! I’ve been their fan since the Fat Society days and I gotta say that my believe and support for this band has always paid off with every record they put out. The vocals are sick and musicianship tight as hell. The whole album is loaded with brutal riffs and punishing beats. Empires Fall contains 10 songs, most of them at a high speed tempo but lots of creative riffing and memorable hooks give it a dynamic feel. They slow down from time to time but they don’t base their music on breakdowns that much. When you listen to this stuff another thing you might notice is a superb production giving this shit fat and heavy sound. Lyrically, they moved from the tales of the apocalypse based on a Bible to more socio-politically aware., yet still dark and disturbing stuff. I like the fact that can touch different topics on one album, like one track is about religion and politics and other one is a down to earth song about hardcore movement and what it means to be a part of it. Great hardcore album, that I can not stop listening to!

Deadscore - Built To LastI didn’t know anything about Deadscore when I was buying this CD, I just thought it would be fine to give Malaysian band a chance. I don’t really recall hearing any hardcore band from that country so it came as a big surprise to me that this band is pretty damn solid.
Deadscore doesn't contribute with anything that hasn't been done by others but they play their music with certain vitality and skills. This is more heavy and aggressive side of hardcore, not unlike bands like Until The End or Terror. Their sound definitely has an edge to it but at the same the songs are catchy and melodic. It's quite clear that they know how to put a good song together and undoubtedly are capable of a blend of all that’s hype-able in modern hardcore. As for a debut this shit sounds really good. Fat production fits the music flawlessly. All the songs are cool but if I had to choose one that stands out I would go for Sellout. It’s fast and ends up with a pretty decent breakdown. Almost all the lyrics follow the same betrayal-revenge formula. They’re ok but if you feel that lyrics are of the same importance as music and you haven’t been fucked over by a friend lately you might be disappointed. To sum it up, it’s a good release that lives up to the standards of the hardcore today but is nothing over the top.

Debut 6 song 12" vinyl from this up and coming PA hardcore band. This Western PA band play punishing, doomy hardcore with lots of power. Fans of Crowbar, Santa Sangre, Entombed, & Damnation AD take note. This record was self released in the true DIY spirit and is nothing short of top notch. The B side has a really cool etching and the 12" comes with a free digital download card. Doesn't get much better than this. (FROM SURPRISE ATTACK RECORDS)Posted: 2/06/2009

Dead End Records is proud to announce the release of Grave Maker "Bury Me At Sea" 12" LP on European soil. The vinyl is under exclusive license from Think Fast! Records. From the first time I ever heard this band I knew I wanted to put them out. So this is a really great opportunity for me and the Dead End Label. Not many bands get me excited anymore but Grave Maker is definitely one of them. They are the hardest working band I have ever seen and we are extremely proud to be working with them. The vinyl release will coincide with there European tour starting in February.Posted: 2/06/2009

Blood In/Blood Out - Hopeless And HeartlessIf you’re into raw and heavy hardcore you are probably familiar with the band. After two successful records for Spook City, their latest material came out on Thornz in 2008. Bad news is that while I’m writing this review Blood In Blood Out is on an “indefinite break”. I hope they will get their shit together again cause it would be a great waste of talent to let this band die.
Blood In Blood Out musicianship has definitely matured since the previous record. They maintain good balance between the harshness of hardcore and more creative song structures. They still keep it tough in the vein of bands like Madball or Death Threat but they aren’t afraid to throw in a few solos now and then and they know how to keep it diversified by giving room to slower and groovier parts. It definitely provide their music with some identity and nerve. Just listen to the way Life Of Pain builds up from a beginning guitar solo passage into an explosive wall of sound. Brilliant! The riffing is intense, the rhythm section is tight and vocalist Jaaron is pissed as hell. If you liked the band before this album was released, you'll like them even more now!
Ps. It’s good to see Thornz back in the game! These guys have released some seriously dope albums in the past. I can’t wait for more and I really hope for Strength For A Reason Show And Prove reissue!
