Crowd Deterrent dudes are not letting go and you're damn wrong if you thought they gonna stop. The band got some new shit waiting to be released and all the signs in heaven and hell show that it will give all the oversensitive dudes and fake ass shit talkers a proper heart attack. We have 5 brand new songs recorded and ready to go. No idea if we will release them as an EP, a split, or do a full length. New material is the early demos mixed w/ Blood and Family, there are songs w/ blast parts and more of an early demos era feel as well as Blood and Family type jams. We are also working on getting all the old recordings re-mastered and some re-recorded and re-engineered for superior quality because let's face it, some of those recordings sucked but they had good songs. BFA have just released the 'Faith' EP

Polish moshers from BFA have just released their new EP called 'Faith'. Their style can be best described as in line with bands like Shattered Realm, Nasty, Madball with some hints of death metal. You can definitely sense the progress the band has made since their previous recordings, which along with a much better production mare for a solid piece of heavy hardcore. All of their influences flow naturally and the result is a material that will appeal to all of you who like to kick some serious ass in the pit. Bands history:

In 2004 three friends from the neighbourhood - Kuma (vocal), Sivy (bass) and Mlody (drums) - realised that all of them were interested in hardcore music and culture. They got the idea to set up a band and then they started meeting in a garage to practice playing. When Jaco (guitar) joined the band, Kuma quit playing the guitar and focused on vocals. In summer 2006 bass player Sivy left the band and Hater took his place. March 2007 BFA entered the Chinook studio in Debica, where they recorded their demo "Inside Conflict". The demo consists of five songs that can be put into hardcore/metal genre. The last line-up changes took place 2008, when Kruger filled in for Hater. Currently BFA release second CD "Faith" EP recorded in Spaart Studio in Boguchwała near Rzeszów. Help us: Unhuman, Contraband Radio, NNC, hard-core.pl, Oldschool H8, Conflagration webizne.

Parasitic Skies - Embers

I’ve been listening to Embers off and on for some time now and to be honest, it didn’t really jump out at me right away, but the more I listened to this, the more I liked it. The sound on the EP is raw and dirty, but at the same time pretty catchy, and I definitely like it that way.

Although this is a 4-song EP, Parasitic Skies succeed in making Embers an appealing effort. There are no fake moves here, from the start they’re getting right down to business and keeping it as hard as it should be. An Abcess is an appropriate starting point for the EP, setting the tone for what can be expected during the rest of the songs. Boasting raw and relentless riffs accompanied by a brutal drumming and deep growling vocals, the song embodies the kind of sound that was long absent in the scene. It could be best described as new school with a lot of inputs from death metal and it kind of reminds me of the 90’ when a lot of vegan straight edge bands were doing it like this. In many cases, it was plain boring and generic, and using the vegan and straight edge image seemed just like a poor excuse for lack of musical skills. Nonetheless, there was couple of bands that were doing this stuff right. Just remember names as Apostle, early Reprisal, Abnegation or Deformity and you’ll know what I mean.

The metal sounding songs featured on Embers definitely bring back memories of those days and even not being the biggest fan of this style, I can appreciate the amount of aggression and energy Parasitic Skied delivers. Mid-tempo grooves form the foundation of their music but the songs are also filled with parts where the tempo significantly increases. The tracks are detailed with good dose of breakdowns and changeups that keep them far from getting trivial and chaotic like a lot of deathcore bands today. I definitely rather listen to Parasitic Skies than to another lame ass deathcore band with squealing pig on the vocals.

It’s not the type of music that will appeal to the common taste nowadays when it comes to combining hardcore with death metal. There are no girly melodic parts in here, no clean vocals or bullshit lyrics. No cheap tricks here. Just an honest band that is serious about what they do and the message they’re trying to get across to the listener. If you are looking for a brutal and metallic hardcore give it a try.

What made you decide to start your own label? Did you have any initial vision how would it operate and what type of bands you would be putting out?

Yeah I was thinking there are more good bands in the world HxC scene but some of young bands hard to get deal with label. There is too much downloading but I’m sure pressing CD is much better than web site release. (Because of real cd with real booklet) So I started my label and hooked up my close band called DOGGY HOOD$.

What are some of the biggest obstacles you had to face when setting this thing off?

Yeah we are hailing from Japan, some of FOREIGN label or distributers are not interested in Japanese works, that’s bad but we can release great music through clandestine. I know too many bands are releasing in the world all time but hope to people from world gonna see what we are doing.

What are some of the albums you have released so far and what was the key to choose bands you want to work with?

I don’t care EXACT category for my label if the band is playing METALCORE or DEATHCORE or BEATDOWN or OLD SCHOOL or RAP SHIT but need to put HEAVY/BRUTAL shit through HxC theory. Also I’m big fun of HxC music so I listen to the music at first if we sign with new band.

What advice would you give to the upcoming bands when they’re trying to get labels interested in their shit? What most of them are doing wrong?

Yeah we gonna put VOW OF HATRED mid DEC. that’s will be totality SICK. Heavy as hell. Often we are getting requests from the band that wants put cd on label. Off course I can talk to something but most bands didn’t check my current release or latest band. That’s terrible. I need to know about yourself and you need to know about myself. That’s the most important thing on deal.

So besides your website, where can people find your records?

Yeah Basically I’m doing distribution called RETRIBUTION NETWORK. I have tons young to big bands titles on our store and we can accept worldwide shipping. Especially I’m pushing the bands that haven’t release cd. We want to hook up such young bands on Clandestine but we need to recover pressing cost from current release and the money will be next pressing cost. We should distribute to more international distro but sometimes hard to send to USA distros. We should find more good way for distribution in whole world.

If any distribution or a label would like to carry some of your CDs, what should they do?

Yeah that’s honor thing so we can send to any country. Please contact me. Off course we can accept TRADE things with any label if want. We can spread each other. That’s perfect.

For all the vinyl collectors out there, how possible is a vinyl release from the Clandestine in the near future?

I Think vinyl format is not popular in here. People would love to take CDS. So actually we don’t have any vinyl release on clandestine but if we get good sales of future titles, I would love to release vinyl version too haha.

As someone who puts a lot of his hard work, dedication and money into making those hardcore records see the light of the day, what’s your opinion on mp3 downloading? Do you feel it can benefit you because some of the kids who download your music for free might actually want to support the band and buy the record?

Yeah I knew there are too many free down load on the blog or share wear. I told I thought real cd is better than mp3 format. BUT I see MP# is really useful. Because I also have IPOD and put tons mp3 on my iPod. We can’t stop such an illegal download system so really hard to sell cds in 5-10 years. But I’m trying / thinking what we can do in the best way to spreading CLANDESTINE RELEASE.

So how do you think hardcore labels can benefit from the use of Internet promotion and digital music distribution, things that seem to be shaping the overall music market nowadays?

Yeah I accepted few download deal ever for my other label RETRIBUTION ENTWORK. If I know and trust the person who can hook up this business, I can do something but we need to sell REAL AUDIO cd before starting download system. Its might be 6 to 8 months after release date. Not exactly but yeah I want to sell CDs first and we can do download thing if any people would like to work with me.

What’s happening in the Japan hardcore scene nowadays? Any good bands you would recommend?

Yeah there are good bands in Japan. And some of foreign bands came to here every month. I’m doing the band called LOYAL TO THE GRAVE and there are good bands around us like CRYSTAL LAKE, EXTIGUISH THE FIRE, DOGGYHOOD$, BIRTHPLACE or GENESIS, CANOPUS. Any kinds of music also there are good bands in Japan like NUMB, CREEPOUT, FIGHT IT OUT, AS WE LET GO, SILENCE KILLS THE REVOLUTION, ENDZWECK, SAND, CLOSER, SLAPDOWN and many more.

I’ve seen some show posters from Japan where you could see hardcore bands sharing a stage with some hip hop acts. What’s the relation between hardcore and hip hop scene in Japan and do you think it’s possible that you release a rap album in the future?

Yeah sometimes HARDCORE bands gonna play with HIPHOP unit as a good festival or shows. Some of HIPHOP group has good relationship with HxC bands but most famous HIPHOP group is not interested in kind of HxC music. Its maybe just noisy music haha. So I’m thinking hard to unite both music scenes perfectly. HIPHOP music is one of overground music in here because of Japanese lyric. But most hardcore bands around us are singing in English so stay in underground. But I’m sure there is great huge fes in here like FREESTYLE OUTRO, MURDER THEY FALL etc. I really like HIPHOP and HxC mix style music. So if we get chance to release such music on our label, I do it! Off course if the music would be pure hip-hop too.
 

Personally, what are your favorite hardcore and non-hardcore bands? What type of stuff you enjoy to listen?

Yeah difficult to answer this questions because I’m listening tons music because of my distro. I like any kind of most music off course HxC, METAL, HIPHOP or R/B, and J-pop. But I can tell my current fav music: Buried Alive, Earth Cirisis, Another Victim, All Out War, Section 8(troy), and Conviction. and I like such a current bands Reign Supreme, xRepresentx, Fatality, Bishop, Suicide Pact, Thick As Blood, Recon, Knock Em Dead, Heavy Hitters, Blackout Rage, Ghostxship, xProvidencex etc. also I’m listening current metalcore, deathcore stuff. About HIPHOP I like east coast 90's hip-hop. Especially QUEENS and south BRONX. MOBB DEEP is the rule. Also Kool G Rap, E-Money Bags, Tragedy Khadafi, Big Punisher and Raekwon.

What are some other future plans for the label? Any new bands or records in the working? 

Yeah next month, we will release VOW OF HATRED full-length! This will be the heaviest stuff heavy!! Original PAHC style. Please check on myspace. Also we are supporting many hardcore/metalcore bands in the world through RETRIBUTION NETWORK. Please check store and we can shipping to any country if you want. Can you introduce yourselves for our readers and let us know where you are from? How did everything start and how long have you been in existence?

What. We're PRECINCT THIRTEEN, from the North West of England. The band really got started as a good laugh in january this year and has remained as such since hahaha

You guys ain’t really wasting no time. After just few months of existence the demo came out and landed you a deal for a debut album. What keeps you on such a pace and how hard is it to keep that up?

Haha yeah i guess it's just we got genius in our bloodlines...I dunno man, the tunes just happened real easy y'know...then we sent the demo out to everyone and anyone that wanted a copy... then a few good heads said they liked how we do...gave it to a few more heads and Swell Creek just came in outta nowhere haha seriously tho Bader@Swell Creek is a real sound guy that genuinely wants to help out a new band...he's like all of us in P13, no one is playin this music to make paper y'know. it all for the love hahaha


Your debut album is coming out February 2010 on Swell Creek. When did you start writing it and how far are you with the overall process of putting it together?

We're writing for it now...11 songs down, gonna do 13 total (blatantly haha)...we're gonna demo the whole lot the end of november then record it for real throughout december. overall we're just tryin our best not to over-think the whole thing...just let shit happen and leave it like dat. U2 or Neurosis we ain't...it's gritty, tough Northern UK hardcore..expect nothin less than the freshest, hardest record to come out in a while.


What do you feel you’re bringing to the hardcore music with the upcoming album and what separates you from the next new band in the scene?

Like i said man, this shit isn't over-thought out...we just playin the music we wanna hear...we laugh a lot and we hate a lot so that's how our music is. i guess for me the music is just straight up tough guy hardcore...music to dance fuckin hard to...then me n miller say what we gotta say over the top. there seems to be a glut of melody based, fake metal bands with "hardcore" written on their myspace profiles...all you get wit us is straight up thug hardcore.


Your style runs from hardcore to hip-hop – was it an idea from the start to merge different musical styles?

Not a very conscious one...the vocals just came out like dat...i'm a guitar player really.. miller hits up bass n guitar...we both like hardcore and hiphop and we never sung in bands properly before...not that we doin that proper now like haha


So who are some of your favorite artists from both hardcore and hip hop scene?

There's a question man, how long you got???? off the dome, how's onelifecrew, blood for blood, knuckledust, shattered realm? vast aire, diabolic n vinny paz? that's what i'm spinnin regularly.


You guys have been getting a lot of help from various distros and labels. How did you get hooked up with likes of Goodlife, FWH and Vindictive Nature distro to help to spread the word around?

Yeah man, we got big thanks for the help off a lot of real safe people...the guys at Rucktion i've known for a long time as they put out my old band blades of unity's record...edward goodlife just messaged us after we added goodlife on myspace and said he was feelin the tunes an that went from there. edward is a nice guy and has put out some of my all time favourite hardcore records so it was humbling to have him like how we do enough to help us out. the others i just messaged over the net, asked dem to check us out when they got time... all those people you mentioned had some real sound things to say to us, and we are truly grateful for their support and efforts.


‘The gang swore a blood oath to destroy Precinct 13... and every kid in it!’ – so what makes this John Carpenter’s flick so significant to you that you named your band after it?

Haha it was actually the first name we had for my old band blades of unity, and i always liked the film a lot...again it was just a temporary thing at first for this band but it kinda stuck this time

What are some other movies you’re into? Maybe some more of this 80's cheese?

Of recent years i liked "the wrestler" a hella lot...aranofsky made one awesome movie there...todd solandz's "happiness" is one of my all time favourites...i like english-made movies like "wilderness", "dead mans shoes", "twin town"...i watched "red road" recently which is well worth checkin out...cheesy movies? yeah i fuckin love anythin from "the warriors" and "top gun" to "toolbox murders" and "last house on the left"....favourite all time movies gotta be outta "once were warriors" and its sequel "what becomes of the broken hearted", "chopper" and "requiem for a dream".


You guys seem to be real wrestling fans. Who’s the biggest and baddest mother fucker out there?

If you could get in the ring with anybody, who would it be?

We had a question along these lines in another interview and miller answered "uri geller"...sorry man, i can't better that...would love to beat that guy to death..haha..scoop out his eyes with a bent fuckin spoon hahaha


Could you tell me about what or who got you interested in hardcore scene? What did you grow up listening to?

The main person that got me into mad different hardcore bands was a guy that used to be known to a few uk kids as millitant mike. him and his wife were really the first people in the hardcore scene that really made an effort to be friendly and shit. real as fuck people. and now like fuckin 12 years later we still fucking well tight wit each other. mike was spinnin the darkest, most evil vegan straight edge records way before anyone else i knew.
i was real lucky growing up as my old man is a mad music head...always played me all sorts of different shit from as early as i can remember...always told me to judge music simply on whether it moved me or not...not what fucking genre box it fits into, or how much ink the lead singer has....guns n roses were definately my first big rock band...but at that time i was also being played don cherry, duke ellington, t bone walker, motown shit...so on. my dad deffo got a lot to answer for haha


What goals would you like to achieve with the band in the future? What's next for you before and after the CD hits the streets?

Jungle Juice vs. Afflictive Nature - Split Tape

There are many bands trying to bring back those days when anger was a big part of hardcore, but few ever nail it the way Jungle Juice does. Compared to their previous release they slowed things down and the music seem to be a lot darker this time.

The breakdowns parts are menacing and skillfully executed. That doesn’t mean the band got slow or weak or forgot what it’s all about. Songs are still driven by sheer aggression and they still got that straight forward to your face style made for kicking some serious ass in the pit. The band is on top form with their tight and aggressive delivery full of raw energy and catchy hooks. Tracks like Hole In The Wall or Riverside Blues are anthems.

In the second part of the album, it’s time for Afflictive Nature to pick up the slack. The first song I’ve heard from them had me hooked instantly. Just as Jungle Juice, they deliver some seriously pissed off tunes. I don’t know much about the band except they’re from Texas, got the demo posted for free download on their myspace profile and shared stage with likes of Folsom, Naysayer, Hoods and countless other. The pace is usually unrelenting but Afflictive Nature can cut a catchy tune here and there and never miss a chance to knock out good breakdown for your mosh needs. Each of the band’s tracks feels like they wanna jump out of your speakers and punch you in the eye. I can't even listen to it outside cause this shit makes me want to steal candy from the kids and other stupid shit. I like the fact that this anger comes naturally and it’s nothing forced like with many bands who make angry faces but their shit is just whack. That’s not the deal here. You can sense just how pissed off they were when writing these songs.

That two bands feel with an energy that you won't find easily in today’s scene. These songs are tied together by the concept of getting shit kicked out of you and it may sound weird, but I’m liking it! If you’re into fast and no bullshit hardcore you will be into this record.

Synopsis:

Toxins in Plastics Make Boys Play Like Girls

As the scientists revealed, baby boys exposed to certain plastics while in the womb are in a danger to be feminised, which means they will be less likely to play with 'traditional male toys'. They are also less into 'rough and tumble' games and instead moshing hard prefer to wear strange looking haircuts and listen to some shitty, whinning bands which are an insult to good taste.

Phthalates, chemicals used to soften many household plastics, have in recent years become a huge concern to scientists -- primarily because they mimic the effects of the female sex hormone estrogen, meaning they can have gender-bending effects. In a new study, researchers at the University of Rochester tested expecting women in their 28th week of pregnancy for traces of phthalates. They later contacted the mothers again when their children were between 4 and 7 years old.

Boys born to mothers who had had elevated levels of phthalates during pregnancy were less likely to play with "masculine" toys, like trucks and guns; instead they preferred feminized or gender-neutral toys. Previous research has linked phthalates to not-fun things such as genital defects, low sperm counts and small penis size.

How do you define your overall style?
Hardcore. There is no metal, punk or emo in our music. (hehe) We don’t determine our style as modern, new york, new scholl, oldschool, etc. Music we play is nothing but our various compositions that we join together making the final effect. We want it to be both vigorous and brutal. We also believe every fan of HC may find something interesting in what we managed to create.

What’s your goal with this band?
For us, hardcore is a lifestyle. We feel inseparable tie with the scene and we love performing, so our goal is to use the sounds and texts to create fun and joy for our fans and ourselves.

What do you have recorded so far?
We recorded our first demo „You Can’t Break Me" in spring 2009. You may found there 5 compositions which we placed in the Internet so that they were available for free. In fact, we’ve just finished recording the second project. It consists of 4 songs and it will hopefully see the light of the day on the beginning of 2010.

Can you introduce yourselves for our readers and let us know where you are from?
For now, there’ve been 4 of us in the group, but we’re still looking for someone to play the second guitar. Mariusz (Guitar) and Baggio (Drums) are from Belchatow. Emilian (Vocal) is also from Bełchatow, but he lives and works in Lodz, from where Krzysiek (Bass) is from.

How did you all meet and how long have you been a band?
Baggio, Mariusz and Emilian know each other for years, Krzysiek was met while looking for bass guitarist. We started playing in 2008.

You’ve been going through some line-up changes lately. Any luck with finding a new guitar player so far?
When looking for someone to play the second guitar, we don’t want to make a random choice, you know. We need a person who understands hardcore, both from music and text point of view. Even though we haven’t found an appropriate guitarist yet, we are hopeful.

Can you tell a bit about the lyrics and themes in your music?
We write about things directly connected to us and our environment. Besides, we also tend to bring up an issue of personal feelings that keep us company in difficult times. We try to illustrate what’s important for us and what values we follow.

How many shows have you played so far and which one was the best and the
worst?
Frankly speaking, we’ve been giving concerts for few moths only. But how intensive they always are! In fact, there’re always better and worst ones, and there were also few cancelled at the last moment. However, we don’t want to concentrate on what went wrong, but to do our best every next time we have an opportunity to perform. Fortunately, there’re a lot of concerts ahead us and we can’t wait the tour across Poland planned for December!


What’s the scene like out there in Poland at the moment? What are some other bands you would recommend?
You know, there are some worse moments here from time to time, but concerts are generally even better than they used to be. Only this year we were happy to attend performances given by artists like: Terror, Bane, No Turning Back, Bishop, True Colors, Bitter End, Death Before Dishonor, Trapped Under Ice, Reign Supreme, 50 Lions, Grave Maker. If someone had told me a year ago that these groups will visit Poland in 2009, I definitely wouldn’t have believed that. As far as Polish bands are concerned, I may recommend Schizma ,Self Respect and Stone Heart.

Do you have any other releases planned in the near future?
As I mentioned before, we’ve already prepared our second demo and we want to make use o it at the beginning of 2010. However, we still don’t know yet how exactly it is going to be used to. I mean, we have some plans, but it’s too early to talk about it.

New music: Cold Hard Truth, Another Victory, Crown Of Glory and Fullback 89

This time we got new tracks from Cold Hard Truth, Another Victory, Crown Of Glory and Fullback 89. All of these songs sound pretty dope so let's cut the crap and get right down to business...

Cold Hard Truth

Cold Hard Truth took the beatdown scene by storm with their successful self released debut album Reflect The Conflict. The band is currently working on some new shit and to give you a taste of things to come, here's Punisher - one of the new songs with Pelbu of Knuckledust fame droppin' some guest vocals.

Another Victory

The band was born in 2006 and as they say, their style can be described as 'fast and strong metallic influenced Hardcore with a bit of mosh attitude'. The band is working on their debut album called 'Pray For Your Death' which will include 11 tracks of brutal hardcore. There are also plans for a video clip.

Crown Of Glory

Tight, strong, heavy, and downright tough Cali hardcore. While bands of similar style very often come off as trying too hard, Crown Of Glory make it all seem so natural and easy. There's lots of aggression pouring out of their songs and the band keep their sound focused, without falling into boring category. This song is one of the few the band has recorded recently and is planning to put on their upcoming EP.

Fullback 89

Here's something more in the old school style. Fullback 89 are from Spain and have a style that's heavily influenced by the old NYHC scene. While originality wasn't big part of writing process, it’s worth to check out this band for for the energy it delivers. It's a proof that it's still possible to make classic hardcore and sound fresh.

Only Attitude Counts - Triumph Of The Underdogs

With this album, kings of Vienna hardcore remain true to the basics of the style they’ve been perfecting for years but play their music with a certain vitality and freshness that isn't often heard from such long going bands like them..

What struck me when I was listening to this shit for the first time Is that it seems the band wanted to go heavier with their music. Not metal, but the overall feeling I get with this album, they seem to be more focused on displaying their musical skills and showing that they can write much more detailed songs then they did before. There is some thrashy feel to some of the songs and it really works for them. They can go fast and aggressive or slow and menacing but the execution is always flawless. Usually, when hardcore bands do that we get a shitty album that tries to mimic metal, but that’s fortunately not the deal here. Take a song like Make Amends for example, with its catchy chorus backed up by typical punk rock gang vocals and a hint of melody in the riffing which is broken up by a slick breakdown with pounding drums, double bass and some heavier guitar work. It’s a short part, but effective.

Although they added a little more variation, the songs on this album are straight forward as always and mostly up-tempo. The riff work is above the average, ranging from some punk rock infused tunes to straight up metal and the rhythm section is pounding.

With this release Only Attitude Counts has taken their old school experience along with new ideas and passion to make an album that's both aggressive and modern. Even after listening to it countless times, it remains effective and catchy. It’s more musically detailed without ruining the raw sound the band is known for. I like the consistency of the album. The keep it tight right from the start and it gets more intense as the album plays out.

Taggers is actually a real training video for police in Los Angeles from the early 90's. Advice for the coppers how to fight with the taggers that is give here is marvelous, especially one about chasing for the fattest guy if you're out of shape. Priceless!

Eyes To The Sky - All Bets Are Off

The sound of this album makes me think of Throwdown and I just couldn’t escape this comparison. It is in the slow to mid-paced groove where the band feels most comfortable and the fast moments are really few and far between. While the band isn’t on the level of Throwdown in their prime, they still deliver some mean and uncompromising shit.

Lyricalwise, the album is filled with aggressiveness and the vocalist Ryan is dropping some seriously anti-social verses about self pride, brotherhood and bringing pain upon those who oppose him. This is the way I like it actually.

While I overall enjoyed the album, ETTS’s weak links seem to be the lack of good ideas to give their songs some variation. The band doesn’t try any new tricks and instead rely on a well set out formula of mosh driven hardcore. While they manifest some good ideas now and then , this is not enough to keep the album interesting for more than a couple of spins. I mean, they got what it takes to make a good music, whether it’s a solid musicianship or angry and convincing vocals, but somehow there aren’t many moments here that excite me. The albums opens up with some solid tracks and then the whole excitement seems to be disappearing somewhere along the way. Despite some strong moments early on, the album as a whole sounds relatively flat. They get my blood rushing again with the last song Live And Die Honor. Never mind its cheesy title , the band brings a lot more emotion out of this song with the right groove and nice guitar lines. It seems ETTS is finally starting to get things more vibrant and too bad it’s happening in the last song.

I know they’re working on a new record right now so I hope they will be able to carve out more of their own identity with the new songs. Overall, this is not a bad album and if you want just something to mosh to, it should play its part. I’ll be checking out another ETTS album for sure but it’s gonna need some more creativity to succeed.

What’s your goal with this band?
Tour europe and make kids hurt each other. bring back that feeling from the late 90's scene.

A couple demo tracks and an unreleased 5 song e.p.

Would you like to introduce yourselves to the readers who may not have heard of you, as well as a brief history?
Mark -drums Jake-guitar Mark l.-guitar Alex-vocals bass-????? (just Jake and Mark here now. drummer. no drummer. drummer no drummer. drummer no singer. band label no bassist. me and jake have been busting our asses for 2 years just to keep the band alive. i was the vocalist for the first year and a half and made the move to drums after having 3 disappointments with the ones we had. we are moving onto our 6th bassist. (i promise its not our fault) we found alex through a few friends who had a band with him that was on its way out. so we swooped in and grabbed him up. and couldn't be happier.

Congratulations on getting a label. How did the Demon-seed deal came about and does it mean that the debut album is coming soon?
We got offered to do a tour this december with blood-war, through our manager ED from graveyard booking and they checked us out and passed us on to the label and with the powers that be being kids from the mid to late 90's they jumped on us. Ed has been a HUGE part of the life of this band in the short time we have know him. Meshia and kyle always throwing down on the floor for us helps alot too!!!

Many kids tend to turn to hardcore as an outlet from something that they’re dealing with in their regular lives. What is it with you, why did you lean towards this type of music?

mark-same old story felt out casted to my "peers" haha im gonna cry. no i was into like "heavy" radio shit and then i went to my first show (xproclamationx, big jon stud, ever-down, and strike 3) and i was instantly consumed by the whole feeling of what the scene was then.(1996)

I’m really feeling the All Family Here track, both musically and lyrically. Tell us how that song came about…
Well we have a song called kinsman that was more of a direct anthem to our close friends and family and we noticed that we were starting to make new good friends and fans and wanted to address them, and we thought what better way than a "kinsman part 2".

What bands do you think had the biggest influence on your sound?
Terror (old), no warning, to kill, buried alive, shai hulud, madball, death before dishonor, hoods, agnostic front, indecision, one king down, snapcase, gwar, gorilla biscuits, suffocate faster,earth crisis, helmet, the miles between, reign supreme,down to nothing, think i care, integrity, and ringworm. i guess haha

One of the purpose of the band is to resurrect the New Hampshire hardcore scene. So do you think it’s moving in the right direction right now?
Not really. the kids who care right now only care to be seen and the ones we want are so fed up with the way the scene is they don't bother but its moving forward. it will take time to make people remember why they need to give a shit.

How would you describe the climate of the scene over there? Are the kids working together to make it work or they rather sit and do nothing but talking shit? 
Cold and doing nothing. but there are a SMALL handful of kids and people doing their part!!

So what are some classic acts from NH and what are some of the newer bands everybody should pay attention to?
Ever-down, strike 3, distrust(the hardcore one),enough said, word for word, trials, relentless we stand, yellow stitches.


What are the future plans for the band?
Not be to drunk to play. haha. tour europe. just have fun and play. thats what its always been about.

Two horror comic books to be released shortly

Hairy Things is a three issue limited series written by Jay Carvajal with Marc Borstel providing the visual side of the project. The first issue will be out January 13, 2010. You can order it here.

The Wild West can be a scary place, as four unlikely friends discover, when they stumble upon a remote town deep in the Colorado Rockies that is being attacked by big hairy creatures. Sadly, for this gang, these hairy things may be the least of their worries! Ships Weekly in January!

The Waking was written by Raven Gregory, penciled by Vic Durichio and olored by Garry Henderson. The story is all about the zombies, fucked up scary kids and big breasted women.

In the big city, four police detectives investigating two routine murders discover that the victims of these crimes are coming back from the dead in search of those responsible for taking their lives. Now the detectives are in a race against time to find the source of the recent "awakenings" and will be torn between doing their jobs or allowing the victims to find their own justice. Meanwhile, a father with an incredible ability must choose between avenging his daughter's death or losing her forever.

Metal pick of the week: Musica Diablo

Musica Diablo is Sao Paolo based thrash project having Derrick Green of later day Sepultura fame on vocals. I haven't been following Sepultura for the last couple of albums so the fact that is doing all the shouting here wasn't really of a big importance. What matters is that this stuff is really good. With powerful chugging riffs, brutal vocals and a tight rhythm section they immediately managed to grab my attention. The band throws down some grimy but aggressive vibes. It's raw and energetic with a lot of good things going on. The song writing is great as the transitions from straight up fast and some more experimental parts goes naturally and the whole deal is very organic and flowing. Musica Diablo is working on the new album which is about to be released in early 2010 so let's hope it's gonna be as good as the songs on their myspace profile

Cold Hard Truth - Reflect The Conflict

In a time where "beatdown" style bands are a dime a dozen and attention spans are that of birds, it's the right mix of attitude, aggression, and (sometimes) relatability that makes a band truly stand out. Cold Hard Truth have that concept nailed to the wall with a sharpened leg bone and let me tell you, sleeping on these guys would be like resting your head on railroad tracks.

Expect a new cd in the coming months loaded with more stake-driving, stomping brutality. For now, "Reflect The Conflict" remains a staple in my cd-players diet and stands above and beyond most of the current crop. Their uncompromising style immediately evokes the essence of such old-time heavyweights as Clubber Lang, Next Step Up, Bulldoze, and Fury of Five. So if you like your hardcore to the point, mean, and dirty, then this needs to find it's way into your collection fast!

Lyrically, expect straight up tales of vengeance and contempt-for-stupidity which we all encounter at some point or another. They don't go too deep so the relatability factor is on point.
